Center for Research in Electronic Commerce (CREC)

Based at the University of Texas, Austin, CREC (formerly CISM) provides news, short articles, publications, working papers, and research reports in the area of electronic commerce. Topics include the Internet economy, digital market structure, antitrust, business models, and contract and intermediation. The site also has a good Electronic Commerce FAQ and lists other useful e-commerce resources and is the home for the definitive research effort ‘The Internet Economy Indicators’ sponsored by Cisco.

The Center’s current research activities actively seek to provide an efficient and effective framework for global electronic commerce and the digital economy through an integrated research agenda that focuses on correlative effects among network infrastructure, products, processes, payment systems and policies, using markets and economic analysis as the central unifying theme.
