Professor of Marketing at Michigan State University from 1959 to 1991, Stanley Hollander’s career in the fields of retailing and marketing spans more than fifty years, first in retailing, then with the Office of Price Administration prior to his move into academia in 1947. Among his many and diverse roles, Professor Hollander was founder and co-chair of the North American Workshops on Historical Research in Marketing, acted as a consultant to the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, and was co-initiator of the Academy of Marketing Science/American Collegiate Retailing Association joint conferences
