The norm of science is just a community that has come together to agree on how they’re going to resolve their arguments. They’re going to resolve them with evidence. That norm of evidence-based arguments can be brought into any company and put to work right away. We have to make a decision about what we are going to do next, how the future is going to unfold, how we are going to make this tough decision. Again, are we going to rely on charisma or who’s at the top on the org chart or who’s getting paid a very high hourly rate? People do that. Companies do that. What the geeks do, what the geeks embrace is saying, “Where does the evidence take us?” and following the evidence.
