With more than 440 US and foreign patents, the record of successful innovations from this self-taught physicist and entrepreneur includes inventing the worlds first portable medical infusion pump, which lead to breakthrough devices like insulin pumps that improve treatment regimes for the millions of people who suffer from diabetes, as well as a portable dialysis machine and the Segway transport system. Most recently he and his team have been working on water purifying and power generation systems that can run on any fuel (even garbage) and bring power and clean water to remote third world locations.
His many technical achievements have made his DEKA Research facility in Manchester, New Hampshire a stopping point for business leaders in many fields and has earned him a long list of accolades.
