ebrary (which develops software and services for the secure online delivery of copyrighted content) recently partnered with consumer-education site Learning Network to deliver business and economics books over the Web. Just download the InfoTools software and set up an account, and you can freely browse, view and search books and other documents from leading publishers. Find exactly what you want by searching the full text or searching by author, title, publisher or subject. Open books using the free software, then page through and explore them. Link from any word to related information or research materials (provided by Learning Network’s Infoplease) and navigate through text at the word level. Like what you’ve found? Purchase only what you need by paying a small copying or printing fee, or buy the book. Or you can laboriously read the entire tome online, if you so desire; but ebrary is banking on a more expedient use of this innovative content delivery and book promotion system.
