We apply the three field tests of design thinking to every function of the company. The first is desirability, people, and human beings—what they want. The second is visibility: the technology of and applied to your product, plus process and manufacturing. Does it make sense for my company? Can I scale it up? The third lens is the business lens, the viability. Do I have the right branding? Do I have the right business model, the right distribution channel, and so on? There is also a fourth lens, that of culture, that is not traditional in the design thinking methodology… Putting that all together, from a business point, does the idea you have make sense for your company?
