I love Adam Grantโ€™s tactic for interviewees to learn about an organizationโ€™s culture: A job candidate can ask, โ€œTell me a story about something that would only happen here.โ€ Itโ€™s a neat trick for candidates, but when youโ€™re a manager, and by consequence an arbiter of the companyโ€™s culture, you should be asking yourself that, too. Whatโ€™s that story for your company? Does it involve people feeling included and heard? Think about what those potential answers signal about your startupโ€™s culture of belonging.
